Bentley Vanden Plas Drophead Coupe 1937

Vehicle Description

Built in 1937 and registered on 09/03/1938.  Testing of the vehicle was completed at Vanden Plas Ltd on 02/11/1937 and it was displayed on the Bentley stand at the 1937 London Motor Show in Olympia (documentation of this is included in the vehicle file). Chassis Number B 103 KU.  Original Registration Number CNG 555. 81,312 miles.  Finished in Burgundy and Cream with Burgundy Mohair hood.  Burgundy leather interior and Burgundy carpets.  The first owner of the car was Mr E. N. Adcock of Ludham, Norfolk who took delivery on 19/03/1938.  The second owner was a Ms V. S. Foster of Thetford who acquired the vehicle on 03/09/1952.  The third owner, Mr T. Lockhead acquired the vehicle on 16/12/1954 and the current owner purchased the car in February 1985 from Peter Harper & Co. of Cheshire.

The present owner commenced restoration work in 1988 with Fiennes Engineering Ltd (comprehensive invoices are contained in the vehicle file).  The well-known coachtrimmer, Roy Creech, carried out restoration work to the interior and hood of the car and his invoices are in the vehicle file. The vehicle has been professionally stored from 03/07/1999 to date and is now being offered for sale for the first time since 1985.  The vehicle comes with an extensive leather file containing invoices and documentation, the original and current Registration Documents, old tax discs, MOTs and copies of old photographs.  More detailed photographs are available on request if required.  Price on application.
