At Hampshire Classics we have 42 years’ experience of taking care of beautiful cars and, as a specialist storage facility, we look after a number of incredible vehicles.  Occasionally, we are asked to sell some of these cars and we are proud to offer this iconic Jaguar XJ220 for sale on behalf of the owner.

The car has been in the ownership of a collector for the past 22 years and has been professionally stored with us during this time.  Serviced by Jaguar Cars Ltd, Coventry and latterly Don Law Racing, Newcastle who has just completed a no-expense-spared comprehensive full service and recommissioning of the vehicle totalling over £50,000.00.  The paintwork is all original and in “as new” condition and 4 new tyres have just been fitted.   A Jaguar Heritage Certificate is included with the vehicle document file and the car also has its original tool kit, handbooks and wallet.

This really is an outstanding, 1 owner, example and viewing is highly recommended.

A truly iconic British supercar, the XJ220, named after it’s anticipated top speed, has aluminium bodywork manufactured by Abbey Panels in Coventry.  Aerodynamic testing was carried out in MIRA’s wind tunnel and the clutch was supplied by AP Racing.  The five-speed rear wheel drive transaxle was created by FF Developments and featured a viscous coupling limited-slip differential.  The twin-turbo V6 engine provides the XJ220 with 542 hp and the car came in annoyingly, just shy of its projected 220 mph, at 217 mph.

At nearly five metres long and over two metres wide, the XJ220 was easily the biggest supercar on the market in it’s day.  It has a drag coefficient of 0.36 and huge underbody venturis to generate downforce.  The headlights are fixed in position underneath oval panels that unusually drop downwards into the body and large intakes along each flank feed fresh air to the intercoolers.  The tail features an open fascia and full width black grille which is shrouded by bodywork on the top and sides and twin plane body coloured rear spoiler.

Inside, the XJ220 has an enormous dash binnacle that curves from the far side of the transmission tunnel all the way into the drivers door where an additional four gauges are housed.
